Here are the rules we follow when preparing the texts on this site. It also states what happens when someone finds a mistake in a published text.
Responsibility for what is published
Material is prepared by a named author rather than an anonymous desk. Any statement can be questioned directly — the contact details are open.
Material on this site is prepared and checked by Catherine Ashford.
What the statements rest on
A statement enters the piece only after it has been checked against a source. If a statement cannot be verified, it does not go into the text.
How to report an error
The easiest way to send a report is with a link to the paragraph in question. We correct the text rather than leaving a retraction underneath it.
